Stonehenge meets STP

Stonehenge Temple Pilots
12″ x 12″ x 1.5″, oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back

When I was in high school, many of my friends would say they were STP fans. (I didn’t know what STP stood for… could my friends really be such big fans of the nascar fuel additive?) Well, after playing along for a few brutal months, I finally gave in and asked one of my more forgiving fellows what it meant. Stone Temple Pilots. I have been rocking out to them ever since.

They go by STP as much as their full name, and (according to wikipedia) were originally going to be named Stereo Temple Pirates, needed to change it, but loved the initials.

So in this painting, I wanted to showcase the STP… with side designs of “Purple” and the star from “Number 4”
